documenta and Museum Fridericianum gGmbH are seeking a Press Coordinator (m/f/d) for the Communications and Marketing Department for documenta 16, to start as soon as possible.
This full-time position is a fixed-term contract through November 31, 2027.
documenta and Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is a nonprofit organization supported by the City of Kassel and the State of Hesse as shareholders. Its responsibilities include the documenta exhibition, which takes place every five years, the Fridericianum, the documenta archive, and the documenta Halle.
As an internationally renowned exhibition of contemporary art, documenta stands for discourse, diversity, and social relevance. We are seeking a responsible individual who brings a passion for contemporary art and in-depth knowledge of international media communications, while also being team-oriented and capable of getting things done.

Coordinator Press (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities:
- Implementing the communications strategy for documenta 16 in close coordination with the press team leadership
- Coordinating media inquiries
- Research, production, and editing of target-audience-specific texts such as press releases, statements, copy, speeches, and more
- Commissioning, processing, and providing visual material
- Establishing press contacts
- Assistance with the preparation and execution of press conferences and events
- Coordination of interviews and other press engagements
Your Profile:
- A college degree in a relevant field
- Professional experience in the field of press relations, ideally at an internationally active cultural organization
- Knowledge of the German and international press and media landscape and its representatives
- In-depth knowledge of the contemporary art and culture scene
- A strong interest in cultural policy debates, as well as a keen sense for politically sensitive topics and the ability to communicate them appropriately and with nuance
- Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications and CMS
- Very good written and spoken German and English
- Social, communicative, and intercultural skills, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to get things done
- Enjoyment of process-oriented, collaborative work as part of a large, international team
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
